About | David Kinrade (accompanist)

David Kinrade recently retired as the Minister of Music and Organist for the First United Methodist Church in Newnan. He served in this capacity for more than thirty years. He responsibilities included oversight of the music ministry of the church, to include up to ten choirs. David received his Bachelor of Music Degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, and his Master of Music Degree from Indiana University in Bloomington.

He has sung in many choral ensembles, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus with Robert Shaw, the International Church Music Festival Choir with David Willcocks, and the Atlanta Master Chorale with Eric Nelson. David accompanies the Masterworks Chorale, Newnan’s Community Chorus.  For several years he also accompanied the choirs of Newnan High School. David is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and is the treasurer for the Atlanta Chapter of the Choristers Guild. He is also a member of the Newnan Kiwanis Club. He is married to JoAn, Assistant Pastor at Newnan First UMC.  He has two grown daughters, Emily Carnes and Rachel.
